Clean Numbers for Confident Decisions.
With Corporate Tax, VAT and e-invoicing now part of doing business in the UAE, your books are the source of every figure the Federal Tax Authority sees. They are also the numbers you rely on when making decisions about pricing, hiring and dividends.
A Plus Consulting is your outsourced finance team. We keep your books accurate, up to date and IFRS-compliant, and deliver clear management reports you can read in five minutes. And because we also handle your VAT and Corporate Tax, one team carries your numbers all the way from books to returns.
We work with owner-managed companies in Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah and across the Emirates, both on the mainland and in free zones.
Accounting in the UAE: Legal Requirements
Six federal requirements affect how your company keeps its accounts. Here is what each one means for your business, the key numbers you need to know, and what we handle for you.
| Requirement | What the law sets | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Accounting standard | What the law sets IFRS. Revenue up to AED 50 million: IFRS for SMEs is permitted. Revenue up to AED 3 million: the cash basis is available. | What we do We set the right basis at onboarding and document the choice. |
| Audited financial statements | What the law sets Mainland companies: mandatory under the UAE Commercial Companies Law. Free zone companies: required under the rules of the specific free zone, typically at licence renewal. Corporate Tax: mandatory for every Qualifying Free Zone Person regardless of revenue, and for any business with revenue above AED 50 million. | What we do We keep an audit-ready file all year and work with your auditor directly. |
| Record keeping | What the law sets Seven years after the end of the tax period for Corporate Tax. Five years for VAT records. | What we do A digital archive of every invoice, contract and bank statement, indexed by period. |
| Corporate Tax return | What the law sets Filed within nine months after the financial year end. | What we do Year-end closure, tax computation and filing through our Tax Agent access. |
| VAT returns | What the law sets Quarterly or monthly, as assigned by the FTA, due on the 28th day after the period ends. | What we do VAT-coded bookkeeping, reconciliation and filing. |
| E-invoicing | What the law sets Phase 1 from 1 January 2027: large businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more. Phase 2 from 1 July 2027: SMEs. | What we do A readiness check of your invoicing system and data mapping. |

Frequently asked questions
The fee is fixed and agreed in writing before we start. It reflects your monthly transaction volume, the number of bank accounts, assets and employees, and whether VAT and payroll are in scope. Send us these figures and you will have a quote within two working days.
Yes. The Corporate Tax Law requires every taxable person to keep the records that support their tax return for seven years after the end of the tax period. This applies to mainland and free zone companies alike, including those that qualify for the 0% free zone rate. The penalty for non-compliance is AED 10,000 for the first violation, or AED 20,000 for a repeated violation within 24 months.
Financial statements for Corporate Tax purposes are prepared under IFRS. Companies with revenue up to AED 50 million may apply IFRS for SMEs, and those with revenue up to AED 3 million may use the cash basis. We confirm the right basis for your company at onboarding.
Audited financial statements are required for mainland companies under the Commercial Companies Law, for every Qualifying Free Zone Person, and for any business with revenue above AED 50 million in a tax period. Many free zone authorities also ask for audited statements at licence renewal. We prepare the statements and the supporting file, and work directly with the independent auditor.
Bookkeeping records every transaction and reconciles it to the bank. Accounting turns those records into financial statements, management reports and tax computations. Our monthly service covers both, so the same team owns the numbers from the first invoice to the filed return.
Yes. We review your opening balances, agree on a handover date and migrate your data. Onboarding typically takes 5 working days. Where earlier periods need attention, we quote a catch-up project separately and run it alongside the current month.
Zoho, Xero, QuickBooks, FirstBit (1C), Odoo, Wafeq and others. If you already use one of them, we work in your account. If you are starting from scratch, we set up the system and the chart of accounts for your activity.
Yes. As an FTA-registered Tax Agent, we prepare and file returns on the FTA portal on your behalf and handle all correspondence with the Authority. See VAT & Corporate Tax for the details.
We work with companies across the Emirates, and location makes little difference to the process. Documents move through a shared cloud folder, monthly review calls take place online, and we meet in person in Dubai by arrangement. Our registered office is in RAKEZ, Ras Al Khaimah.
